Drug Kingpin Ayres

Joseph Arthur Ayres is, hopefully, one of the last of a dying breed.  A man blessed with an abundance of riches but a poverty of compassion.

When I first met Ayres, it was by his choice, certainly not mine.  The wisend old con man came knocking on my door one day, looking for my vote.  You see, Ayres was “pounding the pavement”, running for Alderman of Branson West.

What can I tell ya, I voted against him in favor of a nice guy named Phil Cottrell.  If only I had continued on that path. But alas, over the years, Ayres came back again and again, knocking on my door and sharing conversations about how he wanted to help the poor.  Yeah…right.  Sadly, I was a sucker for his con.  He had tapped into a burning passion of mine.  And that wasn’t by accident.  Each person has some special skill that they have been gifted with.  Artie Ayres possesses a gift for reading people.  He knows what they want before they do.

A friend of mine said, “I’m sure there are people out there who do, I mean, I don’t hate him”.
He went on to say…”That’s basically it, he’s helped me along…I gotta be careful”.  To which I replied, “So that’s living, huh”?  He retorted, “Well it’s not that I have to be careful, I feel that what Artie is doing to you is wrong”.
“Water…Electricity…I mean that’s wrong….”, he said.

We have to agree.
